We have secured exclusive use of the FSC Start Bay Centre at Slapton, South Devon, to use as a base for club kayaking activities. As well as being a convenient location for sea, river and white-water paddling, it's an ideal opportunity to meet and socialise with your fellow paddlers in other odd-looking boats. There's even the possibility that you may cross to the dark-side for one of the two days if want to try something new!
The centre has the following facilities:
The study centre is located about 500m north-west of The Tower Inn, Slapton village, reputed to be a purveyor of good food and beer. The Queens Arms, also in the village, is of similar repute. There's a map here. (The Slapton Ley Centre, nearby, is the wrong place!)
When registering you can choose to add cooked breakfast, cooked communally by us, or bring your own. The pub(s) sound attractive for dinner, but may be full / slow for a big group. Dinner is not included in the price. However, when registering you can indicate a preference for group-catered dinner or pub on Saturday evening. If there's sufficient interest, we'll organise it for an extra charge and will let you know.
