Introductory-level day trip: Studland Bay, (nr Swanage / Poole).

If this is your first trip and you want to know more please email me or use the 'contact' tab on the website and I'll be happy to have a chat.

Priority will be given to those with no/little sea experience. Others may join if there are spaces free, but the level will be set to suit beginners.

Studland bay is a large sheltered bay with a long gently sloping sandy beach which is ideal for beginners. We will start with a chat about what people want out of the day and tailor it to suit. Usually we will take time to re-cap on / warm up with skills learnt on ITP, go on a short trip and finish with cake / ice-cream at the cafe. Bring a packed lunch.

Meet at Studland Bay NT carpark* / cafe at 10:30. Those needing boats and kit can meet at the clubhouse first. About a 2 hour drive from Bath.

*OS grid ref: SZ 033, 836. Coming out of Studland village it is the second carpark, turn right just after Knoll House Hotel. Bring your NT card to avoid carpark charge.

You must satisfy yourself that this trip is suitable for you, that you are sufficiently experienced, able and willing to paddle at the advertised level. For detailed guidance, see trip categoristion. If in doubt, seek guidance from the advertised leader before registering.

You must register if you intend to come. Places are restricted in an effort to maintain an acceptable experience ratio amongst participants. If it's full, contact the trip leader to see whether any more places can be made available.

If you change your mind, that's okay! But please contact the trips officer as soon as you know so that someone else can register in your place.

You must bring suitable equipment or make arrangements for someone to bring it for you (eg. kayak). See what to bring.

You are advised to book a club boat, if you need one, by contacting the quartermaster(s).
