New members

We are a family-oriented club and we welcome new members!

The membership fee includes all club activities, except formla training courses:

  • use of club equipment - boats, paddles, helmets, buoyancy aids etc.
  • pool sessions
  • club trips (excluding: fuel, parking, bridge tolls etc costs which participants share)

All new members whose personal skills are not BCU 2 star standard (now Paddle Explorer) are expected to take the Club's beginners course - this includes all of the British Canoe Union (BCU) Paddle Discovery and Paddle Explorer course, plus some more skills to get members to the skill level for joining Club trips. The training courses are provided by club coaches throughout the summer.

More details can be found on the training page Training

Once members have completed the beginners course they may take part in the general open club sessions, paddling out from the clubhouse, plus join any club trip that matches their skill level.

We organise a variety of other courses, including BCU 2* (now Paddle Explorer), Safety and Rescue Training and Aquatic First Aid. Check the training page for details of the courses that we're running.
