Give paddling a go with a taster session
Open to all, a Bath Canoe Club taster session is a great way to try out paddling. It’s a 3-hour qualified instructor-led introduction to Paddlesports, setting off from our clubhouse onto the River Avon. You will earn the British Canoeing Paddle Start award. Choose one of our available dates to get started. |

The best way to join us is to sign up for our Paddle Discover course, which includes a full years membership.
As a member, you'll have free access to all our club trips and events, weekly pool sessions, and use of our clubhouse facilities and equipment.

Courses
The club is entirely run by friendly volunteers, which includes qualified coaches who provide the following Paddle UK (formerly British Canoeing) Paddle Awards between April and September each year. Boats, paddles, buoyancy aids, helmets, and spray decks are provided. The club has changing rooms and showers. Please wear clothes that can get wet, a wetsuit is good but not essential, depending on the weather. Bring a towel and spare dry clothes! On completion of the courses we are able to provide Paddle UK certification, however this is at an additional cost. Who needs to do the courses?All new members whose personal skills are not Paddle Explore standard are expected to take the Paddle Discover and Paddle Explore courses. Trip Leaders will want to know that members joining Bath Canoe Club trips meet (or exceed) this minimum standard. It is also a requirement to be a key code holder. | PADDLE DISCOVER (6 EVENINGS) AND A FULL YEARS MEMBERSHIPEnables the paddler to develop decision making and fundamental skillsYour Discover Award allows you to develop your decision making and practical skills for a fun and safe time on the water, taking you on the next steps towards becoming a proficient and independent paddler. Learn how to choose and effectively use equipment, whilst developing an understanding of the factors which affect your paddling; giving you the confidence to progress to making your own choices with the Explore Award. In addition to the course you will also get a full years membership so that you can continue paddling afterwards on club activities. Prices
DatesTuesday EveningsThursday Evenings | PADDLE EXPLORE (4 EVENINGS)An award that empowers and supports the individual paddlerYour Explore Award gives you ownership; allowing you to choose where you move next in the world of paddlesport. Working with a coach you will be able to develop a programme that suits what you need. Learning to make confident choices with this individualised approach. Recognising your ability to independently paddle your chosen craft in a sheltered water environment. You will need to be a member of the club to participate in this course. Prices

These prices are for standalone membership, you don't need this if you have booked onto a Paddle Discover course.
Under 18 year olds: anyone 6 years or over can join the club with written consent from a parent or guardian.
