High tide at Avonmouth approx. midday. Meet at Clevedon slipway (next to Clevedon Pier – on street parking) at 9am with aim to be on the water at 10am. Paddle with the tide out in the flow until the tide turns – hopefully reaching and going around Deny Island (bird reserve). Then across to Portishead and potter back along the coast to Clevedon aiming to be off the water by 2ish before the tide goes out too far. Bring a picnic lunch to eat at Deny Island or Portishead. Back up plans – will need to return once tide turns as too strong to paddle against so may not get to Deny Island. If weather or sea is too bad we will do a paddle in the bay/or skills/ if really bad could use Clevedon lake.
