Women and girls into slalom

Frome Canoe Club is offering a one-off day for novice female paddlers in the art of slalom paddling A days training designed to be fun! We can cater for beginners to the more experienced paddler wishing to find out more about canoe slalom. Previous experience is not essential. All the slalom kit will be provided.

Cost £7

Programme

10:00 to 10:30. Welcome and introduction. Split into groups, according to ability, for next session.

10:30 to 12:30. Meet the equipment and get on the water. Simple strategies for negotiating gates. Down streams and upstreams.

13:30 to 14:30. More advanced skills. Bow rudder and derivatives. Forward paddling.

14:30 to 15:30. Race (optional). Teams or individuals.

15:30 to 16:00. Round-up. What next?
