SEA, Surf-practice, Woolacombe (now cancelled)

LEARN /PRACTICE CONTROLLED LANDING IN SURF AND /OR SURFING (in a sea kayak)

Ideal for those working towards 3* / with 3*.   Previous sea experience necessary. If under 18 you must be accompanied by a responsible adult for the whole trip including on the water.

This is a one day event on Easter Saturday.

This is not a 'trip'. We will stay in Woolacombe bay and learn/practice/play in the surf there. Also a chance to practice a whole range of strokes and get used to being on the sea.  BCC members who are 3* paddlers will be there, but you will be expected to take responsibility for your own kit and general safety. Meet at the club in time to load boats etc and leave by 08.00 or at Woolacombe carpark

Transport

For environmental and economic reasons we should car share as much as possible. However with sea kayaks only 2 per car is recommended. Fuel cost usually around £30-£50 per car + parking. Actual cost between you and driver/passenger.

Weather

This is a weather dependent trip. We will do our best to find somewhere sheltered on the day but may have to postpone at short notice (day before) if the weather is not kind.
