Club open sessions are an opportunity for any member with at least an ITP pass to turn up at the clubhouse and paddle with friends. Sessions run fortnightly on Wednesday evenings (whilst it is light) and on Sunday afternoons.
The clubhouse is opened by a key holder on a rotational basis so that you do not have to be a key holder yourself. You will need to be at the clubhouse at the advertised start time. The key holder will close the clubhouse for duration of the paddle and will open again at the advertised finish time. The duty key holder reserves the right to alter paddle times, but will advertise this not later than 24 hours in advance, by email, to all club members.
You paddle at your own risk! Note that these are ad-hoc peer groups paddling together in which every member is responsible for his or her own safety. There will not be a qualified leader planning, organising or leading the trip. The duty key holder is not responsible for organising or leading your trip and neither is he/she responsible for your safety!
You must satisfy yourself that this trip is suitable for you, that you are sufficiently experienced, able and willing to paddle at the advertised level.
You must register if you intend to come. In this case there is no restriction on numbers, but registering lets others know that you are going, which might encourage further participation. It also helps the key holder to know how many to expect.
If you change your mind, that's okay!
You must bring suitable equipment or make arrangements for someone to bring it for you (eg. kayak). See what to bring.
