TRIP CANCELLED.  Due to offshore winds of F4/6 this trip has had to be cancelled.  I will arrange further Beginners Trips soon.

This is the first of the beginners' Trips to run this year.  The aim is to introduce Sea Kayaking to those who have only paddled on flat or river water.  The entry qualifications are that you should be able to paddle forwards confidently, be able to turn, and have been introduced to rescues.

The aim will be to cover a few relevant skills and then venture out to Old Harry Rocks.  It will be a full day and I plan to be off the water by 16:00.

Participants should aim to take themselves to Studland, Knoll Beach, (grid SZ 034 835, BH19 3AQ) where we'll meet at 09:30hrs.  I hope that you have roof racks and can transport your boat, paddle, etc., but if not I am able to collect kit on Fri, perhaps taking the trailer if demand is high.  In addition to registering, please ensure that you email me with your plans for getting yourself and kit to Studland.

There is a cafe at Studland but plase also bring a packed lunch and drink since we may not be close to the cafe at lunch time.

Do put your name on the reserve list if places are taken up because sometimes I can get helpers to join me.

Usual warnings of plan change if weather conditions change.  The forecast is for an offshore breeze with some sunshine.  If the wind increases then we may not be able to be as adventurous.

Contact  trips officer if you need further info.

You must satisfy yourself that this trip is suitable for you, that you are sufficiently experienced, able and willing to paddle at the advertised level. For detailed guidance, see trip categoristion. If in doubt, seek guidance from the advertised leader before registering.

You must register if you intend to come. Places are restricted in an effort to maintain an acceptable experience ratio amongst participants. If it's full, contact the trip leader to see whether any more places can be made available.

If you change your mind, that's okay! But please contact the trips officer as soon as you know so that someone else can register in your place.

You must bring suitable equipment or make arrangements for someone to bring it for you (eg. kayak). See what to bring.

You are advised to book a club boat, if you need one, please enter your boat of choice on the notice board in the BCC store..   A summary of the clubs Sea Kayaks is here
