All,

The next improvers' white water trip should be in Wales probably the Usk from Sennybridge, I appreciate some have you have done it recently but it'll be a good gauge of your improvement - no looks of 'paddle off that your having a laugh' and fewer rocks hit, better breaking in/out and fewer swims....

As always it will depend on river levels (at least 1.5 would be ok, 2 nice and above the 2.5 red line is entertaining/look elsewhere), so fingers crossed for some rain particularly at the end of the week - if there isn’t any rain or too much we'll be seeking an alternative.

We also need a good number of experienced paddlers.

Please register if you intend to come, it has car details and if driving how many boats you can carry, plus emergency contact details that make it a little easier for the organisers.

Meet at the club by 08.00 - the earlier you arrive the better boat you get and if lots of people turn up it takes a while to load boats plus it's about a 2:00 drive. With the shuttle run and faff we probably won't be home much before 19:00, so another full but hopefully fun day .
If you are driving direct we will drop off boats and people at the Farmers' Market at 10:00 - 10:30.

There is a prize of a Mars bar to the first person who spots anyone hiding in a hedge eating a rabbit.

What to bring -

Warm paddling clothes, every November paddle I've done here has been sub zero - boats frozen to roof racks...

Shoes to paddle in and possibly walk around one weir like drop.

Boat - one that will be comfortable for several hour

Paddle and Spray-deck - make sure it fits and won't just pop off too easily
Helmet and Buoyancy Aid

A hot drink - an unbreakable flask (attached) in the back of your boat is good

Water - plenty of exercise paddling like energizer bunnies

Food - nice energy food (flapjacks/Mars bars/banana etc. are good) there is a nice picnic spot

A towel that is big enough to keep you warm.

A waterproof jacket and dry warm clothes to get changed into.

Transport

Normally we share the cost of the fuel (200+ miles) and possibly £6 for car at bridge toll.
