The stretch of coast along the Devon Dorset border is pleasant in fair weather but if the wind has any southerly component the swell hitting the steep shingle beech becomes unmanageable. Let's hope for fair weather but if it's not we'll change venue. The distance is about 10km in morning and then back and so Improver grade paddlers need to be aware of the stamina demands. Apart from launching/landing there are no difficulties on this trip, apart from open water swell, which is why I have opened it to Improvers.
The tidal currents are not strong in this area but it will be low springs and there will be some current. We'll be heading to Lyme on the flood and the ebb starts just after 12:00.
There is a low wall along the esplanade (EX12 2XN) where there is expensive parking but it is possible to offload, lift boats over the low wall and then find other parking opportunities. Grid SY 249 898 and w3w Motoring.Ducks.Progress. The shingle beach doesn't like trolleys...

You must register if you intend to come. Places are restricted in an effort to maintain an acceptable leader/participant ratio. When the list is full names can still be registered as reserves and the leader will notify you if you may join the trip.
